No Animated Avatars

The use of animated avatars (using the apng format which is - by the way - not supported out of the box by most browsers) is not allowed because it violates the avatar guidelines:
I will try to add an automatic detection of animated avatars to disallow them automatically during the upload process.
Until then people will be punished with temp bans and avatar removal when uploading animated avatars.
Edit:
I added a script which should automatically destroy the animation of apngs when uploading them. Can anybody try it and tell me if it works? I'm actually too lazy to install a browser which supports apng...

mm i dont know what should happen but i tryed it with the apng from wikipedia

Sure. Leave the .Gifs alone, remove APNG.
For some reason you haven't found all the .Gif avatars annoying for these years, but you sure found APNG annoying.

I kept gifs which has been uploaded before they were disallowed. However really annoying gifs have been removed anyway.
Yes, APNGs are detected re-saved as normal PNGs by the script. Good to hear that it seems to work.
