My best friend lives there
And Suomi rocks hard anyways!
Have been there over a week these winter holidays

I do know a lot about it and can also speak already a few sentences and I want to live there later.

I have a hell of a lot of respect for what Finland bring... including Linus But I have to question whether you made this thread without personal bias and complete honesty in mind.

A thread like this looks to be unbiased, but how could someone post a negative response without receiving a barrage of scorn?

I could post an identical thread about any nation and would know that if someone were to say something negative, it would be singled out and that would then become the focus. The only reason I say this is because I am semi-expecting someone to be negative as a point of being a "devil's advocate", and of course, receive a lot of abuse for it.

We love our nations. They mean a lot to us. But this don't always mean a lot to everyone else and to some, our pride may seem to be misplaced, being that great things happen all over the world and great people are born everywhere. Countries themselves aren't good, bad or ugly, just the people and the situations in them.

Question was about WHAT do you KNOW about finland, not something like "Do you like...".

I was just curious about what rest of the world knows about my country since i work my ass off at school and stuff to pass exams and stuff which requires knoweledge of other countries.

Also, nmG:

"Voit vittu" means "Oh fuck"
"HAista paska" means "Smell shit"
(and its Haista, not heista ;))

Finland as "rock country" suprised me thou, I think our music pretty much sucks

Oh I'm sorry, my sister told me that. Didn't want to insult anyone or something .

I'm gonna have some serious talk with my sister about this topic . Probably I kinda made a fool out of myself .

House - Talo
Butter - Voi
Cake - Kakku
Eat - Syödä
Drink - Juoda
My name is - Minun nimeni on
Finland - Suomi

Why is DC missing? = Miksi DC on kadoksissa?
I bet DC is hiding somewhere and paragliding = Lyön vetoa, että DC on piilossa jossain ja varjoliitää

Finland-Estonia relations are foreign relations between Finland and Estonia. Both countries restored diplomatic relations on August 29, 1991.

Finland has an embassy in Tallinn and an honorary consulate in Tartu. Estonia has an embassy in Helsinki and five honorary consulates in Oulu, Turku, Ekenäs, Tampere and Kotka. Both countries are full members of the Council of the Baltic Sea States and of the European Union.

Finland's main language, Finnish, is related to Estonian, and there is and has been a certain feeling of kinship.

76% of Finns have visited Estonia and in 2004, 1.8 million Finns reported visiting Estonia.

Finnish and Swedish investors are the largest foreign investors in Estonia.

Both Finland and Estonia are members of the European Union and the Schengen agreement, freeing international travel and trade between the countries.

Finland's government recognized Estonia's independence in 1920. In response to the Soviet invasion, diplomatic missions were de facto removed. However, when Estonia restored her independence, this "temporary obstruction" was resolved.

Finland contributed and continues to contribute military aid to Estonia; e.g. training of officers, provision of equipment.
