This requires much activity which is unreachable for now since not much people plays cs2d. But it might give a small force for the game.
who cares?

Yeah it's gonna be cool but who still use this website?
Somebody still playing anything from unrealsoftware? I think more people still waiting for SIII now like me.

What would be the advantage over a website? I don't see a real one except that you would have an extra fun icon on your phone...

Even websites can have push notifications and stuff like that these days. You don't need an app for that (and that's actually something which is on my list).

Also apps come with downsides: You have to have free space on your phone, install them and uninstall them if you don't want to use them anymore. That's extra effort and many people dislike that. Also, from a developer point of view, apps are just painful because you always have to have an Android and an iOS app which need to be tested and released separately. It's a lot of work and you even need Apple devices to make this happen (which I don't have and don't want to have).

You can add website shortcuts to your home screen by tapping "Add to Home screen" feature within the options section in Google Chrome. This applies to Android, I'm not sure about iOS but it should be the same I guess.

In this way the browser will automatically load the target shortcut. The website is already polished enough to be mobile-friendly, there's no need for a Unreal Software app just to surf the site...

Yeah, user DC needs to add manifest.json. Could be very useful for me - mobile PWA. About the icons it's kinda tricky on iOS.. it has to be filled with white color (for example) on entire image's background and has to have a safe region for logo. For Android you have to do the icon by yourself.

@user FirstGear11: I considered adding 2 factor authentication. It's likely to cause problems / support cases though and also there is no super sensitive data on the website (like payment details) therefore it's a bit overkill in my opinion. May still add it at some point as an optional feature for people who want that extra layer of security.

@user Gaios: Interesting. Didn't know about that manifest file for websites. May take a look into that. Shouldn't be too complicated. Thanks for sharing.

@user DC:
When I quoted your reply and chose to reply without a quote the base input was the above, but without a space after the :, it should have a space.

IMO, 2FA should be somewhat of a priority.
Although there isn't any super sensitive info, your account can be used to cause trouble in game servers.
I doubt you're going to patch the games any time soon, but to be fair, if you add the groundworks for 2FA on the website, and include support for it in S3, then only CS2D will need to have support to it added, as the other games would do just fine without access to the U.S.G.N. (excluding CC, but nobody plays it anymore).
It would be fun if servers could recognise if you're using 2FA as well, but now I'm just getting ahead of myself.
