Thanks to DC we now have a cool gadget which would show how many CC server are online

Users who have Windows XP need to use software provided by this link.
Using it by myself. Avira told me its a virus. Its not.

Q1: Antivirus ate installer and it wont work.
A1: Unpack installer and install it again. Helped for me.

Q2: How to remove black gradient line? (XP sidebar)
A2: At first de-attach gadget from sidebar, and then right click it, and choose close side bar. If you want to pop it up again, right click in tray and click open.

Q3: How to install it?
A3: Extract the zip file to C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets
Disk letter might differs.
Afterwards you should be able to select the gadget.
The server count is refreshed every 30 seconds. The gadget will become green if there is at least 1 server online.

I don't know how to program windows gadgets but it shouldn't be too difficult because you just have to open and parse either this

Edit: Just found out that gadgets are actually written in html/javascript... this shouldn't be hard. Maybe I'll try it.

lol... Windows XP and older Windows versions don't have gadgets as far as I know. Why are you asking for a gadget (and show a gadget which is for 7/vista) if you don't even have Win 7 or Vista?! Makes no sense

Gadget is really usefull at all
And im asking not just for me, no wander if someone else will want to use it
Anyway, there must be a way to use it under XP ._.

i also kept original first post to show how thats started. DC made it, i wrote about it in the end of my post.

So he wrote the gadget but did not tell anyone? Damn, I don't understand! Anyway, this gadget must be really handy.

He made it just today, some hours ago i believe. And maybe he didnt realized how nice that might be, so not posted it into the news section.

Also, now i dont know, like with XP, but is there a way to use in under a unix system, like ubuntu? lol

Then no need to adapt it, anyone can just install screenlets and just paste the script like it says here. It could be installed as web application/widget.
