Please tell me there is a way to launch the game in fullscreen mode like normal, and I'm just not seeing it...

Use parameter (like I do):
Make a shortcut to your game and put at the end of the directory position "-fullscreen". If you don't know what I'mtalking about, then read another answer.

But now I see that the launcher gives you an option for this. Sorry - I never used the launcher before, always just ran cs2d directly. So I didn't see it at first
