the distances between the connected waypoints should roughly be the same (it should be no problem if you make some exceptions)
make alternative ways and not only one
make at least one way from the base to the map goal! (bombspot, hostages, vip zone)
connections must not touch any walls or obstacles! imagine a rectangle which covers the whole connection. in this rectangle should be no wall or obstalce!
if you pay attention to all of this it might work. however the bots do not work well to 100%. In some cases they just do not do what they should do even if the waypoints are perfect.

DC forgot to say not to add waypoints into deadly's, like the deadly floor tiles, well it shouldn't be a problem to make waypoints if you just practice mapping a bit.
And I hope the new mappers will have no problem making them.

The bigger the map is the less chance of me making waypoints for it is 36% lolz.
That's the line which the bots follow, and try to connect them as good as possible.
Just follow some of my recent advice although some might loose some proper grammar. Which I'm sorry for.
