CS2D General Server Problems? Server Problems?
6 replies yes i have portforwarded 36963 to UPD,
i've been trying to host a "ONLINE" server for almost ...7 months and still i have no luck. but this is something weird
When im hosting, i havnt Ticked the "OFFLINE/LAN" on or sv_lan 1
i see my server in LAN? i can join my server by lan but nothing else. Friends can join by USGN follow as well but i dont add alot of ppl so its kinda useless.....
anyone help??
thanks I think u should press "Connect to IP" in sever menu then find your IP in here: http://www.usgn.de/ip
Then u can connect using USGN account Yeah, sometimes you can only see your own server in the LAN tab. Friends should be able to see it in the serverlist too (to find out if they can, go to http://www.usgn.de/ip , copy your IP, go to http://www.usgn.de/servers.php and search for it. If it's there, your server will be in the serverlist too)
If your server doesn't seem to be there, try to use usgn_addserver in rcon or local console DC Admin Offline
if your server IS on the serverlist (check it as TKD described!) but others can't see it in-game:
still possible that you didn't forward correctly or that a firewall is blocking!
join with usgn friendslist and join by IP uses the NAT hole punching technique so people are able to connect even if your settings are wrong!
the serverlist does not use NAT hole punching because it costs too many resources to perform NAT hole punching on all servers all the time. so the serverlist will only work if you fordwarded correctly and if there is no firewall blocking the connection. um.... DC, wat should i do to get the NAT thing out??
im using a D-Link 504G v3 Modem
and a Belkin F5D8236-4 v3 Router
im on wireless, does that do anything to effect the server hosting? Ok, let me ask, I've done all things that you said
but when I'm in game I type "server"
it appears (name of sv) 0.0.0.0:36963
all those 0 means im not online?
(bcause my server does not wants to get in the sv list) DC Admin Offline
@BrunoRZ:
no, the 0.0.0.0:36963 thing is normal and nothing to worry about in CS2D. it doesn't mean anything.
@ifrit723:
same procedure for every router: forward the used port correctly. however the way how exactly you can do this is always a bit different. you will have to read your router manual to see how (or google it).
this thread is rather pointless because everything known is already said here:

all I can do is repeating the same stuff again and again and again...
